Green 3824 exhibits good dispersibility, even in processes which have short dwell times and relatively low shear forces. It is easy to break down and distribute to reach its final tinting strength quickly. It does not migrate and is very lightfast, weather stable, strong coloring strength and covering strength. The pigment has been developed particularly for applications where high heat stability is required. Furthermore, the content of chrome (VI) is very low even zero.

It is commonly called chrome green or chromium green when used as a pigment. Chromium oxide is a crystalline green powder. Chrome green is not soluble in water, acids and alkalis. It can be used to refer to a mixture of chrome yellow (Lead Chromate) and Prussian blue (Ferrocyanate).
